Dates, checklists and straight answers
The practical reference material clients ask for most. Everything here is general information — check with us before applying it to your own situation.
Key dates
The Australian tax year at a glance
Deadlines shift when you lodge through a registered tax agent, and they shift again if a date falls on a weekend. We track your specific dates and remind you ahead of each one.
June quarter BAS & super
Quarterly BAS due (extended when lodged through a registered agent). Super guarantee for the June quarter must be received by the fund by 28 July.
PAYG withholding annual report
STP finalisation declarations due for most employers, confirming employee income statements for the year.
Individual tax returns
Self-lodged individual returns are due. Clients on a registered tax agent's lodgement program generally have longer — we will confirm your date.
December quarter BAS
December quarter BAS due, along with the first SMSF annual return deadline for newly registered funds.
Company & trust returns
The final lodgement date for most company, trust and partnership returns lodged through a tax agent.
Tax planning window
Trust distribution resolutions, super contributions and asset purchases must be completed before year end to count.
